Employers are being invited to find out more about apprenticeships at a free business breakfast in February.
The event at Melksham Town Hall on 6 February is being held during National Apprenticeship Week from 3 9 February.
Wiltshire Council's Employment and Skills Service is hosting the free business breakfast to support employers who are new to apprenticeships and those who want to increase the scope of existing programmes.
Employers of all size and sector will be able to hear from key speakers about topics such as higher-level apprenticeships, funding, employer incentives, off the job training and levy transfers.
There will be an opportunity to network with existing apprenticeship employers and to engage with training providers. The event is open to all and employers who are yet to take on an apprentice are warmly invited to attend.
Employers and training providers can register for the free breakfast event which starts at 8am at Melksham Town Hall on 6 February using the following link national-apprenticeship-week-employer-breakfast
Conservative Cllr Pauline Church, Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Skills said: "Wiltshire Council has almost 250 apprentices across a range of areas which adds real value to the work we do.
"We know many people are furthering their careers by completing an apprenticeship. This free event will be a great opportunity for companies who are considering apprenticeships or want to expand their programme to find out more on how this can benefit their own business."
Rachel Hansen, Leader HR Business Partner at Knorr Bremse said: ""As a company we understand that there is a skills shortage in engineering and encouraging young individuals to pursue a career in the field is key to resolving this. We see apprentices as the future of our own workforce, and the scheme is part of our ‘succession planning."
If you are an employer, parent or young person who would like to know more about apprenticeships then the Employment and Skills Service can offer a range of free and impartial resources and support. To find out more contact [email protected]
