A new youth hub has been set up to offer face to face advice and signposting for 16 - 24 year olds to support with next steps into employment, apprenticeships or further learning.
Wiltshire Youth Hub is a pilot venture set up with partners and is available in Trowbridge Town Hall on Wednesday afternoons 1pm - 3:30pm until the 29th September 2021. A different partner will be hosting appointments at the Youth Hub each week, and young people can book a slot.
On the fourth week (28 July, 25 August and 22 September) a drop in session will take place. Details, including how to book and which partners are visiting are available on the Young Work Wiltshire Instagram - @young_workwiltshire Follow and turn on notifications to see posts with details.
Partners holding appointments at the Youth Hub currently include: The National Careers Service (Adviza), Building Bridges, Young Work Wiltshire Education, Employment and Skills Advisers, Julian House, Build a Bike and Employability Programme, Inner Flame Summer Achieve Programme.
Cllr Laura Mayes, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills at Wiltshire Council said:
This is a pilot project and is one of the many ways we are offering advice and support to our young people to help them decide the best options for them. It's been a challenging year and working through the myriad of offers and possibilities can be daunting. We hope people will find this hub useful and use it again and again to help them with their choices.
Additional support is available on Young Work Wiltshire including Wilfred Chatbot to answer queries 24/7, weekly vacancy listings, information on apprenticeships, traineeships and kickstart information.
