You are being asked for your say on proposals into possible changes to electoral arrangements of Wiltshire's towns and parishes.
We are running a public survey until 26 February 2019 on proposals we have received as part of our ongoing Community Governance Review changes. The review is to ensure that town and parish councils continue to be reflective of the identity and interest of local communities, and that they are as efficient and effective as can be in their governance.
A series of public meeting dates have also been confirmed for you to find out more about the proposals. Each meeting will focus on the proposed schemes for that area:
• Trowbridge 20 January Council Chamber, County Hall, Trowbridge 6pm-7:30pm
• Melksham Without 22 January Bowerhill Village Hall , Melksham Without 6pm 7:30pm
• Calne Without 5 February The Lansdown Hall, Derry Hill, Calne Without 5:30pm 7pm
• Melksham 14 February Assembly Hall, Melksham, 6pm 7:30pm
Conservative Cllr Richard Clewer, Chairman of the Electoral Review Committee of Wiltshire Council, said "The committee has received many proposed changes to the parishes included in this review. Before draft recommendations are formulated we would like to know what residents and other members of the public feel about the proposed changes, and encourage as many people as possible to respond to this survey and attend the public meetings."
The survey and further information about the proposals, including which areas are being surveyed, can be found on our Community Governance Review pages.
Additional info due to letter error:
A public meeting is to be held at Bowerhill Village Hall on 22 January from 6pm - 7:30pm for residents of Melksham and Melksham Without to be informed about proposed changes to parish arrangements, and how they can provide their views to the council.
All residents in Melksham and Melksham Without will have or shortly will receive a letter informing them of the community governance review, and of the dates of public meetings. In error, Melksham and Melksham Without parishes were not listed in the letter sent to residents, which affected many other parishes, and a second letter will be sent to residents updating them.
There will be a second public meeting on 14 February at the Assembly Hall, Melksham from 1800-1930, for anyone unable to attend the meeting on 22 January.
