Conservative led Wiltshire Council recently published their budget proposals for 2025/26 and there’s an upcoming public webinar where you can have your questions answered.
Wiltshire Council Leader Conservative Cllr Richard Clewer and Cabinet Member for Finance Cllr Nick Botterill will be hosting the webinar on Tuesday 4 February from 6pm to talk through the proposals in more detail. You can submit any questions in advance to [email protected].
Due to their strong position, they've opted to not increase the Wiltshire Council element of council tax by the full amount government has permitted – instead, proposing to raise it by 4.5% (2.5% for basic council tax and a 2% adult social care levy,) rather than the full 4.99%.
No final decisions on the proposals have been made, and prior to being discussed and debated at Full Council on Tuesday 25 February, they will have been scrutinised by various groups including members, group leaders, trade union representatives and various committees and task groups.
